ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT | AP SPECIALIST

Construction & Development Company based out of Los Angeles is currently seeking Experienced Accounting Assistant who will be responsible for assisting with accounting functions to include:

• Code subcontractor and vendor invoices
• Enter invoices to Peachtree; including attachments
• Enter invoices to digital Billing folders by project
• Scan receipts, invoices, and other important documents
• Maintain proper filling per projects, both digital and hard copies
• Obtain Conditional and Unconditional Releases
• Review Subcontractor contracts for discrepancies in Billing
• Run Job Ledgers per Project
• Run Payables Reports
• Cut Checks for Payables by project and maintain office bills
• Monthly Credit Card reconciliations
• Answer phone, take messages, transfer to the proper person
• Retrieve/sort/send daily mail
• Order & Maintain Office Supplies
• Order Materials and Supplies for Projects as requested
• Subcontractor Set-ups (Contracts, Agreements, Insurance, W9)
• Process / Maintain & Mail 1099’s

Must have the ability to multi-task, and work well under minimal supervision. Must be proficient in MS Office, with strong emphasis on Excel, familiar with Dropbox, and Peachtree/SAGE knowledgeable. This is a Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pay range is $22 – $26 per hour, DOE. Minimum 5 years’ experience in CONSTRUCTION Accounting required. PROJECT ENGINEER – 1 POSITION OPEN IN SAN DIEGO CA LOCATION

Project Engineer will be responsible for the following:

Request for Proposals (RFPs): Evaluating the RFPs received/searched through different sources.
Invitations to Bids (ITBs): Reviewing plans, determining the activities required to complete the selected project to bid by developing bid packages for the specific scope of work that ACS do not perform and get competitive bids from the subcontractors.
Estimation: Reviewing RFP in detail, preparing detailed accurate estimates for the complete scope of work specific to the bidding project such as estimates for concrete, sitework, masonry, framing, drywall, flooring, siding, painting, finishes, etc., using MS Excel, Blue Beam and Plan Swift.
Request for Information (RFIs): Sending follow-ups of ITBs. Identified and managed the RFIs related to the bidding projects using Blue Book’s One Team, Procore, Builder Trend and emails. Magnifying subcontractors’ network, Preparing preliminary schedules for the bidding projects.
Value Engineering (VE): Identified & evaluated the effective value adding options for the projects and prepared the alternate budgets. These alternate budgets with VE proposal won a few of the bid projects as it provided the clients.
Evaluating Bids: evaluating the bids received for the costs, inclusions & exclusions of the scope of works, and compliancy to the project specifications. Negotiating with the subcontractors, formulating winning budgets combining the estimates prepared.
VE Trade Procurement: Revisiting subcontractors bid and created bid comparison & scope sheets. Procuring subcontractors for the awarded projects using the procurement strategies like negotiation, scope confirmation, evaluation for quality, qualifications, project specific relevant experiences, capabilities, safety records etc.
Responsible for Scheduling: Organized and coordinating scheduled meetings with the project team. Responsible for detailed construction schedules for the projects in primavera P6 or MS Project using the lean concepts like Pull Planning, CPM Scheduling, Big Room concept, predicting uncertainties, analyzing obstacles, lead-times, rain delays etc.
Construction Activities: Updating schedule, identifying Percent Plan Complete (PPC), Prepared look-ahead schedules to improve the productivity of the delayed PPC. Formulated solutions for the constructability issues using lean construction tools. Significantly managed RFIs, submittals, change order requests, drawing logs, CAD files, Revit models, Building Information Modeling (BIM) files, inspection reports, project documents using Procore or Builder Trend.
Participating in Project Meetings: Coordinate project schedule meetings, weekly progress meetings, constructability meetings, BIM coordination meetings, safety meetings, Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings.

SALARY: $85,000 per year.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering or Construction Management or Equivalent and minimum 2 years related experience.
